Laurel Park is an old Victorian Methodist summer camp created in 1872 just outside Northampton Massachusetts. Today it is a sleepy wooded parkland where cottages share the space with large mature trees many of which existed before the park created. This is a special place to look for fungi as many of the surrounding woodlands are relatively new secondary growth and you get different fungi associated with mature trees as opposed to young ones. This book is a photographic record of over 150 photos of fungi found in the park along with discussions on their habitats, interaction with the trees, nutritional modes, toxicity and edibility, and conservation. Whilst specific to Laurel Park, this book should be of wider interest to people with a general mycological or conservation interest.
