This concise, informative genealogy is concerned with one of the first families of New England. Thomas Lord, "Ancestor of all the Lords of Connecticut," was a native of the English county of Essex. Following closely on the heels of his eldest son Richard, Thomas embarked for the Massachusetts Bay Colony with his wife and seven younger sons and daughters in April of 1635. By 1639, Thomas had settled the family in Hartford, Connecticut, and established himself as a respected man of means. Reverend Lord has attempted to account for every descendant of Thomas Lord up to the 1880s and wherever possible has included biographical information to supplement his genealogical data. A complete full-name index has been compiled for this edition.
