In this tenth installment of the PI series, Andrea Harrison has been invited to join a group of tv ghost chasers as they travel to an old English Manor house on the rocky coast a hundred miles west of London. Of course, her husband, Connor has to 'tag-along' to keep her company and to keep her out of trouble. She is supposed to be writing about what the group is doing in tracking down the ghosts of Banbury Manor but soon discovers that the leader, who is also the tv host, is a charlatan. His producer tells her that there are no ghosts on the show. He makes them all up in what she calls 'post-production'; that is until a real ghost shows up out of the darkness and a murder happens in the darkened hallways.
The British police are called and the Bobbies quickly discover they have four ready-made suspects, the members of the ghost chasing group including Connor and Andrea who are the only people in the locked mansion.
How will they be able to prove their innocence and at the same time help the British police identify the real killer; or is it the ghost who is the murderer? And what mystery does the old grandfather clock in the library hold and why will it never strike the hour of midnight?
Follow our duo in their quest for the identity of the killer as the old Manor House slowly reveals its secrets and the unlikely villain is finally unmasked
