Each of us is a teacher. The things we say and do unavoidably represent the philosophies and ideals we espouse. By our speech and conduct the way of life we have chosen is promoted within the sphere of our influence. This is never truer than in the parent child relationship where great trust and responsibility lies. In my early years I never gave it much thought, but now I reflect with love and gratitude as I have come to know that my parents were always teaching. Years of living have piled up a treasure trove of experience and memories. I realize now that life itself has always been teaching. Looking back I see humor in events and situations that held no humor at the time. I also recognize lessons being taught that were not obvious nor appreciated as those events unfolded.
