The Grand Canyon is one of the world's most visited tourist destinations, and it is no wonder, considering the natural splendor of this monolithic crevice. Millions every year make the pilgrimage to the United State's Southwest to gape in awe at the mind blowing vistas. Originally filmed for the IMAX screen, this documentary has been converted to DVD and VHS by Slingshot Entertainment for those that have yet to stand on the precipice and feel their stomachs drop, as well as for seasoned veterans of the canyon. Filmed to make the viewer feel as if they were the camera, this documentary is loaded with unique thrills. Director George Casey places you on a raft as it "floats" down the Rio Grande, through what many consider the most treacherous rapids in the Northern Hemisphere. You are also strapped into the seat of an Ultralight aircraft as it soars through the canyon, allowing you a view of several of the most picturesque peaks. This 50 minute thrill ride is a sight to behold, almost as magnificent as standing on the North Rim. The DVD version of Grand Canyon: The Hidden Secrets also features a special bonus short film documenting the making of this movie, a selection menu that allows viewers to skip to their favorite sections and alternate language options.
