The Okuyi performer's announcement of an imminent death in the village, coupled with the unexpected presence of rival tribes nearby and of an unknown vessel near the kingdom's shore, forces the king of Oyuda to solicit outside help. Volume #1 centers on king Tomparo as he leaves to seek advice from goddess Hel, the oracle and protector of his clan. Problems occur when Kapueo, the king's brother, trades his niece, Kenya, as a peace offering to the Adepoyo clan, a rival tribe. Now he must find a way to save his daughter and defeat the impressive rival tribe that is stationed at the outskirts of his village.
