James Baytree is back and he's promised Hilldale, Missouri will pay for putting him in prison and taking his son's life. Sheriff Dan Halloran, his deputies, and a U.S. Marshall from Texas must stop him before he destroys those dearest to them. With the mounting wounded and dead in his wake, it appears Baytree may win the war he's declared on the town, and he's decided Dan's wife and unborn son's deaths will be his farewell to Hilldale. Sheriff Dan's prayers appear to be falling on deaf ears, and he sees a side of himself he never knew existed.
