How did this idea of the resurrection of the dead, first mentioned in the Old Testament (and so present in early Judaism), come to play such an important role in early Christianity? The New Testament is directly shaped by questions related to the issue of the resurrection of the dead, including both the resurrection of Jesus and its consequences for humanity, especially for Christians.
