Nineteenth century Italian composer Michele Enrico Carafa di Colobrano's opera +I Due Figaro (aka +Il Soggetto di una Commedia) receives a unique interpretation for this July 2006 production, mounted for the Rossini in Wildbad Festival at the Kurhaus in Bad Wildbad. This unusual and little-known opera blossomed from Carafa's friendship with Rossini and constitutes a sequel to +The Marriage of Figaro; it finds Cherubino, now an adult, returning to the palace in disguise as Figaro II to be near the count's daughter. The cast includes Giorgio Trucco as Il Conte d'Almaviva, Rossella Bevacqua as La Contessa, Eunshil Kim as Inez, and Simon Bailey as Cherubino. The Wurttemberg Philharmonic Orchestra and the Coro del Conservatorio San Pietro a Majella di Napoli lend musical accompaniment with Brad Cohen conducting and Elsa Evangelista directing the chorus. Jochen Schönleber did the art direction, and Stefano Vizioli directs for the stage.
