Numerous studies have demonstrated the role of agriculture in the process of economic development. For the physiocrats, agriculture is indispensable to development; it provides the resources necessary for the development of other sectors. The general aim of this study is therefore to analyze the impact of agriculture on economic growth in the Congo over the period 1995-2016. To do this, we have drawn on theoretical and empirical review. After analyzing the results from the Error Correction Model (ECM), we found that the GDP of the agricultural sector in Congo has an increasing trend. Furthermore, we have also shown that the agricultural sector has a positive effect on non-oil economic growth in Congo. Keywords: agriculture, economic growth and MCE.
