Kathy Salazar was born in New York City and was raised in Harlem. She left school at 16 to help support her family and began writing while still very young and has continued on throughout the years."In The Presence of Christ" is a compilation of poems and stories that was written over time. They were inspired by different events that happened in her life such as "Meeting Mother Mary" in 1970 and waking up "Paralyzed" in 1992.The "Ninth Candle" was inspired by true events as was most of the stories in the book. "Choose Life" are her thoughts of issues that are very relevant to our world today. The "Nonchalant Priest" is a concern that is sometimes seen in the church. What can we do to help the Priest be filled once again with the burning desire to serve Our Lord God with all his heart? God has played an important part in her life and her friendship with several priests over the years was an inspiration for her to learn to understand their own sacrifices. This book is filled with love and devotion to our Lord Jesus Christ and to her commitment to following His Way.
