Book II in the Inferos Vortex Series
After the events that took place in Book I (In the Shadow of Monte Castello), this continuation opens where the other left off: With some brand new threats to the planet.
The Satanic "Princes" that operate from deep underground in Switzerland have once more used the CERN supercollider to open portals to a Hellish dimension that lets fantastic creatures of legend enter our world with murderous intent for us all.
Some Comments from Readers of Book I
***
Addictive. The characters and plot are both entertaining yet believable. There is a very interesting mixture of gritty realism, humor, and stark horror here. I have never before encountered such a perfectly tuned blend of these elements. ***
Some of the dialogue and situations are laugh out loud funny, and other scenes would make it an instant classic as a film due to the humanity of the characters in it. Any GenXer who used pen and paper RPGs will also find some delightful references. I suspect Mr. Filotto had a lot of fun writing this. I can't wait for the sequels.
I've never laughed so much and simultaneoulsy been so terrified of ever being outside my home at night again.
So good! I can't believe I'm going to say this, but this might be the best thing you've ever written!
Filotto's first foray into horror is fantastic. I have read several of his other books, and this may be my favourite. Unlike his sprawling space opera The Overlords of Mars trilogy, which has some very intricate plot lines and technology, this one is pure entertainment. Scary, hilarious, and above all a really fun read. I hope they make it into a film, it would be awesome.
