Jo is a Paladin. That is to say, she is the only person capable of manipulating the four elements: earth, wind, fire, and water, to bend at her will in order to protect people from danger that they don't even know exists. Her inevitable Paladin expiration date is threateningly close and now, a new monster has threatened Jo and her life and she must train to fight this monster while dealing with her own real life struggles of being a teenager. Will she be able to ward off the evil demon and keep everyone in her life happy? Will her new relationship with her fellow drummer place danger on the boy? Will Jo be strong enough to handle this creature on her own? Will Jo be strong enough to handle her own teenage struggles as they threaten to spill over into her supernatural life? Will Jo survive at all?
