Farhad Ghassemi Tari was born in Tehran, Iran. He currently resides in Oxnard, California. The author completed his Ph. D. program in Operations Research (applied mathematical programming) and graduated from Texas A&M University in 1980. Right after his graduation, he started teaching at Sharif University of Technology for thirty-six years, where he retired as an associate professor. During this time, he conducted research projects and taught several undergraduate and graduate courses, mostly in mathematical programming such as Linear Programming, Integer and Dynamic Programming, Nonlinear Programming, Sequencing and Scheduling, and Quantitative Method in Managerial Decision Making. Tari has published more than eighty papers in scientific journals and has held conference proceedings from the research results. His hobbies include reading books and listening to classical music.
