Introduction to Global Plate Tectonics II is the second of a five part series covering the subject of plate tectonics, paleogeography, and the drifting and build out of continents. Each book was designed as a picture guide containing many images extracted from scientific journal articles written y research professors on the subject matter. The text content has been rewritten to help explain technical terms, converting the terms into a more understandable language for those interested in learning about geological sciences, but have not yet mastered the terminology. Images were redrawn by adding color and texture to highlight key events explained by the text. Part II covers the development of the North American basement continuing through to the present day, with a peak into the future arrangement of the continents. Chapters on Alaska, the Appalachian Mountains, Western US, Mexico, and South American geologic histories are included.
