Down and out, and sleeping on his ex-girl friends' couch, John (J) Reegan Conner, inherits a small two story building in a small town in the Panhandle of Florida. And in it he discovers the offices of his Grandfather Private Investigation Service, J. Reegan Investigations.
One day being stoned and bored he decides to read his grandfather's old files. After reading his grandfathers' files from the business, primarily employee back ground checks and skip tracing. He decides, what the hell, I can do this and make money. So, he tries his hand at the investigation business. J studies online and acquires a state private investigation license and builds a client base and a good income. Learning the investigation business turns his life around and gives him a new purpose and life style.
A string of Ripper style murders in the area baffle local law enforcement. The victims are all near term pregnant women who have been ruthlessly murdered.
J is approached by a local prostitute to find her pregnant younger sister whose gone missing. The police know the prostitute and ignore her pleas for help. She begs J. to takes on his first missing person's case. He and his small team race to find her before she becomes another victim of the Ripper
