Jayden Blue and Raylene Hawkins were asked by the giant Iron Lions to help with a conflict between all of the lions and someone (or something) known as Val ka'Yoom. The Val lives on a mountaintop somewhere in the World So Close, a land that Jayden and Raylene discovered only recently and have been exploring. Hex and Halo, Jayden's cats, have convinced him that they're ready to join them for the journey. They've all gathered up cookies and cat treats for the trip. Just as Mrs. Blue is about to walk into Jayden's room-in the middle of a sentence-they depart and hope that time really does stop while they're gone. On their journey, they're helped by a long list of intriguing characters: a woodpecker, a fish, two chipmunks, a seal, a bunch of turtles, a flock of sheep, a goose, an owl and a blue jay, a wolf, and a bear and a squirrel. Almost all of them can talk. Some are even happy to bake and cook for them. Their journey ultimately leads them to the home of Val ka'Yoom, who is not what they expected and is quite a challenge. Share the journey through A World So Close with Jayden and Raylene as they use skills that they've learned from Hex and Halo, their crow, and the Iron Lions. Will it be enough to help with Val ka'Yoom?
