John Mays is a 2 time Juno award winner (Canadas Grammy) and was born in 1941 in Dawson, Georgia (same year and hometown as Otis Redding). John found a love of music early in life, singing gospel as a child in the 40s, doo-wop in New York during the 50s, soul on the 60s chitlin circuit, and funk in the 70s with James Brown.
