In this fictional tale, Charlie lives in his own private paradise, where He writes and often entertains unexpected guests. A river runs through his property, and God lives on the other side. Charlie has learned the secret to crossing the river, and though He's not the guide, his secluded home is a gateway of sorts. When his guests come calling-or heeding the call, should we say-he simply shows them the path and lets Jesus do the rest. We live in a confusing time-a time when the river raging between man and God seems to be widening with every passing day. He's still there, waiting for us to join Him and live a life filled with His peace and joy, and He's provided a way to cross the river between us and Him-Put your hand in the hand of the One who stills the water.
