The Kaxúmbekua summarizes in a single word the ethical and moral values ​​of the P'urhépecha culture. The changes that are taking place in today's society threaten the irreparable loss of indigenous values ​​that gave P'urhépecha society an identity and training in matters of moral value.
The loss of the mother tongue and along with it the oral tradition, has made it impossible to continue transmitting ancestral wisdom as was practiced before. The new generations consider ancestral wisdom as a thing of the past and opt for a different behavior, leaving aside moral values, which were guides for the P'urhépecha culture.
