Varric is reeling after the loss of his mom. Now his sisters have been kidnapped, and Knoll is threatening to hurt them unless Varric releases Arakaros. And if Arakaros gets free, he'll destroy humanity. Varric must choose between saving his sisters and protecting the realms, but he cannot do both. Saving one sacrifices the other. Even worse, Knoll has given him only one week to release Arakaros before his sisters die. Faced with an impossible choice, Varric sets off on his most dangerous quest yet.
