The story picks up right from the last chapter of book one. Princess Ruby and the girls were sold off to a merchant inventor and find themselves separated from the others and in a strange place. One of the Jewels is at the verge of death having been injured in an accident and may lose his leg. The Jewels decide to return to the Kingdom, and devise a plan to rescue the girls and the other lost children of the Gem regions because while on this journey they discover their true purpose to rescue the lost, offer them hope and freedom from the bondage of the evil that has spread throughout the dark regions. Through a series of new and dangerous adventures, they rise above the circumstances having unseen help along the way. Now, twelve young Jewels, a General and his small army along with Royal Palace guard are commissioned by their King to find and rescue anyone that seeks freedom. Their mission is to set all the captives free.
