The year is 2013 and Natalia, her brother Airon, and her mother have just landed in London, where Natalia will be appearing on the most watched reality-television program,
One Minute of Glory
. As they prepare to get on the train that will take them to the city center, however, Natalia and Airon become separated from their mother. They wait for hours for someone to come for them before setting out on their own to find their mother. Along the way, they meet a number of unique—and sometimes threatening—characters, but they’re accompanied at every step by Shao Li, Natalia’s imaginary friend, who is a source of courage and strength.
