The Roman de Thebes is the work of an anonymous poet who reworked the story of Oedipus and his children in the "langue d'oil" around the middle of the twelfth century. The poem was later revised and moved closer to being a chivalric romance. This work presents the text of Manuscript A, a Picard language rewriting of the "chivalric version."
