The primary objectives of this dissertation were to explore the impact of full-range leadership styles and employee performance concerning organizational commitment as a mediating variable. Specifically, the study aimed to appreciate the leadership styles as apply in state-owned enterprises and how they affect the performance of the employees. Also, it sought to investigate whether the commitment of employees mediates the relationship between full-range leadership constructs and employee performance in state-owned enterprises in Ghana. These objectives are premised on the fact that State-Owned Enterprises play a significant role in the development of the public sector in every economy. The state invests in these enterprises, which is beyond the capacity of private investors to benefit its citizens. It is, therefore, not surprising that there is pressure mounted on effective leadership among the management of the state enterprises in Ghana. This indicates that leadership style has an impact on the performance of the employees, so it should have a broader position to occupy in the management of state-owned enterprises (SOEs).
