はじめまして!
Thank you for taking at a look at my Intermediate guide to Japanese Grammar!
My first Japanese textbook touched on the basics of Japanese grammar and focused mostly on JLPT 4 and 5 material. This second book in may series focuses on JLPT 3 and 2 material, and if you have read my first book this should be a great continuation for what you have already learned.
Who is this book for?
This book is perfect for...
upper beginner to intermediate speakers
those looking to pass the JLPT 3
those looking for a book with an emphasis on grammar
those that want to learn more colloquial Japanese
What is in the book?
In this book you will find lessons over
70 chapters
on...
combining multiple sentences into one with か
describing how something appears with みたいだ
describing what you thought with つもり
describing how something seems with らしい
expressing how you would rather do something with くらいなら
expressing "thanks to " with おかげで
how to compare with くらべて
using しかない to express "nothing but..."
quoting people with って
expressing contrast with に対して
expressing "even though " with くせに
and more!
If you are a beginner, I encourage you to check out my first book before starting this one.
About me
After graduating from college, I wanted to travel the world before entering the work force. I always had an interest in Japan, so I decided to go there for a year to teach English. Well, I loved it so much that that one year quickly became four! During my time there, I studied for hours every day. And while I do not live in Japan anymore I still study (almost) every day.
While I am not a native speaker, I have collaborated with native speakers in writing this book and I feel that my experience as a student of the language gives me extra insight when teaching Japanese that would be difficult to get from native speakers alone.
