Composer Luc Ferrari collaborated with director Gerard Patris between 1965-68 on a series of filmed intimate portraits of great musicians ¿ LES GRANDES REPETITIONS. Two of these films, on Karlheinz Stockhausen and Edgard Varese, have been released for the first time outside of France. The films include the premiere of Stockhausen¿s monumental Momente in Cologne, a tribute to Varese who died a few days before filming began, a rehearsal of Deserts, and exclusive interviews with Iannis Xenakis, Herman Scherchen, Pierre Schaeffer, Konstantin Simonovic, and Marcel Duchamp.
