Excerpt from Life and Light for Woman, 1881, Vol. 11 Her home is now in a sadly unsettled state. I think you know Something Of her history. You remember, she forsook her kraal and came to the station eight years ago, that She might learn of God. She wished even to forsake her husband, as he had another wife, and both were abusive to her. The husband followed her, giving up the second wife, and chose rather to cleave unto this one; and made many promises of fidelity, consenting to build a house in the station. These were the conditions she imposed, and it was only upon condition of his compliance with them that she would consent to regard him as her husband. He complied with them all, and for several years seemed happy in doing all he could to make their home pleasant, and was apparently eager to learn all he could of the true way, so that we began to hope that the evil spirit had been cast out, and the new one had taken possession Of his heart.
