Through twenty-four metered lines, readers are introduced to the endearing troll named Linus. As a troll, Linus naturally displays physical characteristics that could appear menacing, ranging from his cold, scaly skin to his long, sharp claws. However, in juxtaposition to his outwardly appearance, his kind intentions are revealed at each couplet's end. Simultaneously, readers will gain insight of the soft heart underneath the rough hide of Linus Troll and discover that despite appearances, "a friend like Linus is hard to find."
