Emmie Marie has a vivid imagination and loves to pretend. Her imagination creates many fun moments, and she wants to share them with other children. In chapter four she meets a hummingbird, she names Hermie, who was different from all the other hummingbirds. She teaches him it's okay to be different. On their adventure throughout the neighborhood, they meet a little boy who was crying so they decided to stop and comfort him. I think you will find the words in bold text to be fun to say and learn. I believe it's important to learn different words even if they are a little hard to pronounce the first time. You can try and guess their meaning, then look in the back of the book for the fun word's definitions. Have fun using these words with your friends. Learning to read is one of the most powerful things we can do, and I hope you enjoy reading about the imaginary adventures of Emmie Marie. Your friend Liz
