Rev William Rorer is a very unique and one of a kind personality. I was a child when I met him at a church in its infancy. In 1967, when we moved to Broadview Illinois, I had already made up my mind about Jesus as my personal savior, but I needed to be grounded in the faith. Pastor Rorer was the key person in my life who helped me and our church to find the Pastor we all so desperately needed and our community needed. In addition he more than filled all of the duties as both a Deacon and Trustee to our new Church. He later attended Moody Bible Institute in Chicago, Illinois where I witnessed the Spirit of the Lord increase his wisdom. The things that people write about in books about community and family, Pastor Rorer did naturally. He gave his time, his resources and his skills to establish with the Leadership of God the Lord Mission. He was a role model for me because I attended Church for Sunday school, Baptist Training Union (BTU) and the Royal Ambassadors. In addition to this, my father died leaving 10 children in the care of my mother. That's when Pastor Rorer stepped in and took us on trips, to football practice, to golfing and everything a child could dream of, including Six Flags Amusement Park. I learned by watching, and Pastor Rorer and Pastor Hopson led me to my destiny, as an Ordained Preacher.
