The material used in the runner is reed, it is an integral part of the socio-economic fabric. Cultivation of this reed is on swampy land and processed by soaking it in water to make it soft. Handcrafted weaving is done without the use of any machines. Extra reeds hanging from both sides are cut to give this runner a finishing touch.

Do not pull loose fibers. Trim with scissors and tuck loose ends back into the weave to prevent fraying.
As the product is made using dried reeds, sometimes it may not lay flat. You can get the runner to flatten by moving your hand across the weave and it will soften and lay flat. You can also roll the runner in the opposite direction and then unroll it, to achieve flatness. Do not fold runner.
Place runner in a dry, well ventilated area.
