Makieba is a young girl who grew homesick after relocating from Kenya, East Africa, to the United States with her parents. She felt isolated, unhappy, and missed her friends dearly. Learning how to adapt to a new way of living was a challenge. Makieba's Mother decided to cheer her daughter up by allowing her friends from Kenya to visit her for " Makieba's First Pajama Party." Makieba is excited to introduce some of the American ways of living to her friends in the hope that it would be " A Week to Remember!"
