The Teatro Donizetti in Bergamo, Italy mounted successive productions of Gaetano Donizetti's 1835 opera +Marino Faliero on October 31st and November 2, 2008, which are synthesized into a single production in this release. It stars Giorgio Gurian as the title character (the Doge of Venice, Rachele Stanisci as Elena, Dogaressa, Ivan Magrì as Fernando, the Doge's Nephew, and Luca Grassi as Israele Bertucci, Captain of the Venetian Arsenal. The Orchestra and Chorus of the Bergamo Musica Festival Gaetano Donizetti accompany the production, with Bruno Cinquegrani conducting and Fabio Tartari serving as chorus master; Marco Spada directs for the stage.
