When tragedy grips the farming community of Winslow, Kansas, people pull together to pray for a positive resolution to the problem. New neighbors in the town, the Barkdales, don't believe in Jesus and are resistant to the idea of prayer. Too many disappointments in their pasts have led to a distrust of religion. That doesn't stop Coop and Becky Smith, however. When they show compassion and offer friendship and a Christian witness, the Barkdales pay attention. Will the new relationship between the Smiths and Barkdales lead to a relationship with Jesus as well? And how will the faith of the community be tested when the unthinkable happens? The kidnapping of a little girl sends the police into action and the church to its knees. Even through difficult times, God has a plan. Regardless of the outcome, the love of Jesus remains the same. And sometimes help comes from unexpected sources.
Rosemary J. Fisher is mother of two, stepmother of two, grandmother of eight and is about to become a great grandma for the first time. In addition, she claims hundreds of children as her own - those she has taught and cared for during her forty-five-year career in education. Retirement has given Rosemary the time she needs to pursue her new passion - writing! If you would have asked her five years ago what she intended to do in retirement, reading and traveling would have been at the top of the list. But today, she does her traveling in her mind as she creates locations and characters and builds her stories around scriptural principles of forgiveness, hope and trust in the Lord Jesus Christ. In her free time, Rosemary enjoys singing, playing with her collies Regina and Brynn and reading. You might also find her walking the dogs on trails in her Columbia, Missouri, neighborhood where she and her husband John have lived since 2007.
