There is a 1969 film called Justine, based on the works of Lawrence Durrell. Be advised that this 1969 film isn't that Justine. Rather, it is a Spanish/Italian adaptation of the 18th-century "classic" by the Marquis de Sade. Klaus Kinski is ideally cast as the utterly depraved Marquis, overseeing a variety of sexual aberrations, subjugations and humiliations. Jack Palance co-stars as a conjuror of sorts who abuses and seduces an assortment of willing females. The political overtones of de Sade's novel are ignored in favor of the salacious and sensational.
