When the Coronavirus Covid-19 hit early in 2020, my husband and I, like so many others, heeded the advice of leaders and scientists and took precautions that included quarantining in our home. We believed - and hoped - that this pandemic would last no more than a few weeks or months at best. At the time, we had no idea that Covid would remain a danger for a lot longer than that.
We were some of the lucky folk who did not have to deal with the seriousness of the virus: thankfully, we avoided contracting it, nor did we have to watch loved ones suffer through it. We just found ourselves - well, BORED - by the monotony of the isolation.
After a few weeks of the quarantine, I decided to make a personal collection of the humorous conversations (they did not feel funny at the time, however!) between my husband and I that occured as we tried to adapt to our new reality during 2020, and well into 2021. After posting a few each Monday on social media on a whim, I was encouraged by friends who could relate to our crazy situation to make these "Quarantine Marriage Dialogues" a weekly thing. Then, I was even urged to concider publishing them.
Being isolated with one person indefinitely, even when it is your own spouse of 41 years, creates some very nonsensical predicaments. Hence, these are one year's worth of our silly weekly conversations as we tried to hang on to our sanity (and failing miserably!) - from the lock-down in March 2020, to March 2021.
I hope you enjoy these - and please know that in no way do I dismiss the seriousness of this global pandemic, but that this was a means to keep our spirits up during a very trying time.
