You might be surprised to find out that the book of Acts in the New Testament was only one of about a dozen documents from the first century Church that was considered an "Act." The title "Act" was the first century word to describe a "biography." From the first few centuries of the Church we find a number of documents that share this title. "The Acts of Paul and Thecla," "The Acts of John," and "The Acts of Andrew," are a few examples of the works considered biographical Acts. This book series offers most of the "Acts" or "Biographical records" available to us today from the first century Church, as well as a select few of the "Gospels," "Martyrdoms" and "Epistles" relevant to the life of Jesus' family or His Disciples. Most of these books were at one point archeological discoveries of manuscripts in multiple languages containing the traditional biographies of many early Church Apostles and leaders. They have been preserved by many Orthodox and Catholic Churches until around the 1600's when most of them they were translated into a raw and rough, very hard-to-read old English versions. After years of careful compiling and editing by Jacob Reeve and a small team, these documents are now ready for your consumption! If you are a missionary, pastor or evangelist or are interested in any way in the power of the Gospel or the origin of the Church, this series is a must read. To my knowledge there is no collection of writings that will more deeply encourage and strengthen believers. These books are a definite addition to the mental libraries of those who would seek to be ministers of the supernatural power and love of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. VOLUME ONE is a compilation of early Church documents describing the childhood and early life of Mary, John, Jesus and others. This Book includes THE GOSPEL OF THE BIRTH OF MARY (Attributed to St. Matthew), THE HISTORY OF JOSEPH THE CARPENTER (Narrative by Jesus, unknown author) THE PROTEVANGELIUM (Authored by James the brother of Jesus) and THE ARABIC GOSPEL OF THE INFANCY OF JESUS CHRIST (This book is an Oriental compilation and work of many authors, some known, some not). If you want to know the trials, victories and miracles of the parents of Mary, John and Jesus, this book is for you. In these documents you will discover many details of the childhood and upbringing of Mary, John and Jesus.
