When a person dies in a haunted place, he or she can be resurrected by the spirits inhabiting that physical space and become a paranormal entity with bizarre, lethal superhuman abilities based on the nature of their death. Because of the terrifying powers this creature, a Revenant, gains upon resurrection, humans struggle to keep them contained in the Mausoleum, a prison designed to contain them and create revenue for scientific research by forcing Revenants to participate in brutal death matches. Roman Sheer, an intern at the Mausoleum, struggles to remember his shared past with the unstable Revenant number Ten. Together, they confront both the living and the dead, Roman trying to figure out his past, and Ten trying to figure out his future. But the world of the undead has never been black and white, and neither of them anticipate coming across a dark secret lurking deeper than even the Gallows of the Mausoleum, a secret that could destroy the thin line between the living and the dead.
