AN INSPIRATION TO MENIERE'S SUFFERERS FOR TWO DECADES NOW. First diagnosed with the disease in the 1990's, when meniere self-help books and blogs were nonexistent ...within this information void, the author had to make a recovery happen: he decided to instigate a series of lifestyle changes to see if he could reduce severe vertigo attacks he was having. What he discovered was remarkable, even to his doctors. He discovered the steps needed to make a full recovery. He went on to help other sufferers do the same. He published his first book of 200 copies in 2004; contributed articles to audiology magazines, and published a book series that has helped countless people find the same path to recovery. One of the first personal books written by a Meniere survivor, the advice is still relevant today. In Part One, the memoir, Meniere Man shares a very personal account of his life with Meniere's disease.
In Part Two, he explains his remarkable recovery, in detail, exactly what he did to make a full recovery. No vertigo. No Bad days. No brain fog. No wooziness or dizziness. No meniere's exhaustion or tiredness. No anxiety or worrying over triggers.
A complete recovery, a full life back without the restrictions of Meniere's or medication.
How did he do it? Everything he did to make a complete recovery is in this cohesive book, the Author shares everything that worked (and didn't work) for him. He shows how his positive and holistic approach to Meniere's, and takes you on his personal journey of recovery.
His latest Audiology report shows a faint Bell curve of the Meniere's disease he once had...he will always have 90% deafness and tinnitus in one ear...the legacy Meniere's left him with.
ABOUT THE MENIERE MAN SERIES
When the Author was diagnosed with Meniere's, his ENT specialist handed him an A4 leaflet and told him to keep away from stress and to not eat salt. That was it! There were no books on the subject in bookstores, libraries or the internet.
The Author was determined to avoid surgery and invasive medical options. With an information void, he had no choice, but to take recovery into his own hands. Armed with hope, determination and a positive attitude, he recorded daily accounts of what worked and didn't work, until he amassed four years of handwritten diaries, daily journals and notebooks.
Once he recovered his health, he wrote a series of books to cover every aspect of his recovery.
On completion of his first manuscript
three years later, he presented it to his two ENT specialists to review. Both professionals said, the book was invaluable from a patients' perspective. They believed, even medical people would benefit from reading about the experience.
Since publishing the first self-help memoir, Meniere Man went on to write Meniere self-help books, during the past 7 years. Each unique book is written from his personal perspective as a sufferer and as a survivor. Aside from writing the series of self-help books on Meniere's, Meniere Man supports Meniere's research worldwide. He has published his findings in Meniere support magazines in Europe and Australia; giving talks to Meniere groups, donations; one-on-one face-to-face sessions to help sufferers as well as telephone mentoring support.
He hopes his personal insights, help make the world for Meniere's sufferers, a less frightening place.
