Feeling lost, Nyla rededicated her life to God. She felt if she did something for Him, then He would do something for her. She found a church and began to work there as secretary of the praise team and the new members department. She also sang in the choir, assuming that if she worked in God’s house, He would bless her with a home and pay the mortgage. But after a real estate deal went bad, she realized that she was working for the Lord in self-effort mode. She needed to change.
