The relationship between sleep restriction and mood can influence transport, commuting and human movement conditions and as a consequence can be a determinant of quality of life. Due to major changes in lifestyle, including new technologies and excessive workload, for example, society has become active 24 hours a day generating problems in sleep quality and mood state, reflecting negatively on traffic. Thus, the aim of the present study is to describe and discuss the influence of sleep restriction on mood in vehicle drivers through the psychological view. For this study, 01 book and 55 scientific articles published in the last 46 years were compiled. The results of the present study show that sleep restriction can cause daytime sleepiness and changes in the mood state of drivers which can influence traffic accidents. Thus, it is concluded that the driver who does not produce a good night's sleep can cause changes in his mood, combined with the prolonged working day without a rest break, thus causing changes in the biological rhythm of the organism.
