On August 24, 1853, George Frederick Warren married Julia Calista Stanley in New Britain, Connecticut, bringing together two New England families that form the foundation of this compilation of biographical sketches. This collection includes sketches of Warren and Stanley ancestors in the direct blood line as well as numerous lines that connect into the Warren and Stanley lines. The most recent generation is that of Harley Lester Warren (1897-1986). The Warren and Stanley lines follows a similar path as the settlement of the United States, from ancestral days in England, to Boston and Jamestown, migrating to Connecticut, New York, Pennsylvania and on to Illinois, Missouri and Iowa and finally to Nebraska in 1872.
