The CD series "Music for the Mozart Effect" has been compiled and sequenced by Don Campbell as an audio companion to his books "The Mozart Effect" and "The Mozart Effect for Children." The premise of the books and CD series is based on the research of French physician Dr. Alfred Tomatis regarding the transformative power of music and the hypothesis that Mozart's music in particular is ideally suited to mental stimulation, relaxation, and learning enhancement. Regardless of the validity of this theory, Campbell makes the undeniable point that Mozart's music is accessible and can be enjoyed and appreciated by everyone.

Volume 4 of the series is titled Music for Projects and Study and is meant to create the optimal mental state for study and concentration. This installment is comprised of 2 CDs and includes specific, detailed instructions. Disc A, subtitled "Focus and Activate the Mind," is designed to energize and motivate and features bright, uptempo works. Disc B, "Clarity and Restful Attention," is programmed to help one slow down and collect oneself with gentler, more subdued music. As always, the music is well worth listening to whether it's with a specific purpose or simply for the pure enjoyment of it.
