Through a mix of poetic styles from throughout all of history, a knowledge of ancient Greek mythological and historical figures, and his own pain and grief, Ewan C. Whaley crafts a series of poems travelling from the deepest depths of Tartarus all the way to the highest reaches of Mount Olympus, using these tortured figures to explore his own experiences and pain. While stylistically distinct from author Ewan C. Whaley's first published work, Redneck Hamlet, Musings of the Algea maintains that same exploration of personal experience through writing that the former playwright, now poet, is known for.
