"Because you're still Nettie. You're still my friend, the person that I care about." "I am a monster," her voice quivered. "No, you aren't." "That... is the first time I have ever heard anyone say that." Mason wasn't happy about spending the summer with his aunt and uncle on Hollenboro, a remote island off the coast of Maine. He expected his time there to be quiet and uneventful, until he discovered a young woman following him. Nettie is from a neighboring island and has little knowledge of the modern world. The pair quickly form a friendship, but Mason realizes Nettie is not welcome on Hollenboro. Her island holds a terrible, deadly secret... but Mason, blinded by affection, is determined to flee Hollenboro with Nettie by his side. As the pair settles into their new life, Mason realizes that living with a werewolf will be unpredictable... and dangerous. Sydney Wilder is a design and writing enthusiast, whose love of fantasy was sparked by many late nights playing and hosting Dungeons & Dragons campaigns. She has lived in several states, with the inspiration for this novel coming from a year spent in Maine. She holds a Bachelor's in Communication and a Master's in Graphic Design. Sydney currently resides in her hometown in Central Florida, where she lives with her menagerie of animals and works for a publishing company. This is her first novel.
