After deciding to leave a job that wasn't working out, Andi Lonnen embarked on a 2,000km solo cycle-camping tour across Switzerland and France via the Swiss and French Alps, Jura and Vosges Mountains and through the Champagne region up to Calais in the Summer of 2012. Encountering all weathers from snow and torrential rain to violent thunderstorms and a baking heat-wave, Andi enjoyed the encouragement, support, friendliness and kindness of complete strangers on the road whilst cycling through some of Europe's most awe-inspiring scenery. Throughout this book, Andi answers many questions regarding cycle-camping tours including her experiences as a female travelling on her own. She also discusses various scrapes she found herself in from being treated as a potential bomb-maker at Eurostar to calling the police when no-one could access the shower block at a campsite! Please note that 10% of all proceeds earned from the sale of this book are being donated to the British Lung Foundation. As a chronic asthmatic herself, many members of Andi's family also suffer with lung conditions. This will be a great way to "put something back" and ensure this great charity can continue its ground-breaking research to help generations to come.
