Chevy Chase stars in this rambunctious comedy as Clark Griswold, a man intent on driving his family on a cross-country vacation odyssey to the promised land of his choice -- a California amusement park called Wally World. Along the way, the Griswolds are confronted with a series of unplanned obstacles, including the death of their Aunt Edna (Imogene Coco) (instead of delaying their vacation, they simply strap her to the roof of their car) and the continuing reappearance en route of a sexy blonde (Christie Brinkley) who drives Clark wild with desire. But in their obsessive quest to get to Wally World by any means necessary, the Griswolds eventually find themselves in trouble with the law.
