It is a creation of the contemporary industrial and mechanized era, impacted by several literary movements and groups in addition to western influences. It has adapted to shifting themes and literary techniques in addition to the appearance of fresh ideas about what it means to exist in different eras. The book "Nau Rang Afsane: part-2" is a selection of short stories from contemporary Urdu fiction.
