What began as the Lafranchi Dairy in Nicasio, California in 1919 has evolved into the award-winning Nicasio Valley Cheese Company, where the third generation of the Lafranchi family now specializes in crafting certified organic farmstead cow's milk cheese – the only one of its kind in California. Our collection of Nicasio cheeses features three of their most popular varieties—a mild Brie style, Swiss Italian Alpine and Italian Taleggio–style—all great table cheeses for serving with crackers and fruit, in sandwiches, pasta or risotto.
Formagella: Mild Brie-style cheese with notes of roasted pine nuts and butter; made in 3" rounds with velvety white exterior. (10 oz.).
Nicasio Reserve: Gold medal–winning organic Swiss Italian Alpine cheese with buttermilk, mushroom and almond notes; aged for 6 months before release. (8 oz.).
Nicasio Square: Full-flavored Italian Taleggio–style cheese with notes of sautéed onion, mushrooms and garlic; winner of numerous awards, including a Top 5 finisher in its class at the World Cheese Championship. (6 oz.).
